What is moral injury?

Moral injury isn’t only about what happened to you. It’s about what it did to how you see yourself, others, and the world.

You may feel: guilt or shame that won’t go away, betrayal by people or systems you trusted, conflict between your values and what you had to do, a loss of faith, identity, or sense of purpose. You may be functioning, but not really living. Moral injury hides itself in competence.

Is this what you’re experiencing?

1. Meaning.

We make sense of your story — what happened, what it cost, and what it meant.

2. Response.

We work with the emotions: grief, anger, shame, numbness, and everything in between.

3. Reconstruction.

We begin rebuilding identity, purpose, and next steps so you can live fully, not just survive.

I draw on evidence-based approaches (like ACT, Motivational Interviewing, and Problem-Solving Therapy).

No clichés. No quick fixes. Real, honest work, integrated with your values and beliefs.

What is moral injury, in simple terms?

It’s the emotional and spiritual pain that comes from acting against your values, or feeling betrayed when life doesn’t align with your beliefs.

Do I have to talk about faith or religion?

Only if you want to. We work with what matters to you—faith, conscience, or none at all.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, I offer both online and in-person sessions for your comfort and privacy.

Is this counseling a substitute for medical or psychiatric care?

No, this is not a replacement for medical or psychiatric care, but can be a valuable support alongside it.

What if I’m not sure I’m ‘bad enough’ for counseling?

You don’t have to feel broken or have everything fall apart before reaching out. If you’re carrying pain or questions, that’s enough reason.

Can I schedule a conversation just to see if this is right for me?

Absolutely. That’s what the First Conversation is for—there is no pressure.

You don’t have to untangle this alone.

If something in these words sounds like your life, that’s enough reason to reach out. We can start with one conversation.
